Earlier this morning, the nominees for the 86th Academy Awards (more commonly known as the Oscars) were announced in Los Angeles by Chris Hemsworth and the President of the Academy of Motion Pictures, Cheryl Boone Isaacs at around 8:30am EST/ 5:30am PST.
Many nominees weren't a surprise, but like always, there were some serious snubs. Some of them were Robert Redford in the Best Actor category, or Oprah Winfrey in the Best Supporting Actress category, and the films The Butler (of which Oprah was in) and Fruitvale Station. However, what's done is done, and the nominees have been chosen. After the list of nominees will be a document listing all 58 movies nominated in alphabetical order for those who wish to see all the movies nominated this year. Let's see who can watch all of them before March 2, Oscar Night, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres! Don't forget to make your picks on oscars.go.com or the app!
