Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone! Thankgiving is one of my favorite holidays because I get to eat a lot of food. And I love food. A lot. Food is awesome. I like to eat food. On Thanksgiving, I get to stuff my face silly!
Since my parents are divorced, I get to have TWO Thanksgiving dinners! Two times the food! I had my first Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving at my mom’s house. When I woke up that morning (which was early…like 8am.) I watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which I do every year. I’m not a fan of the lip synching, but I still like to see the floats and balloons, and of course, Santa. I helped out in the kitchen after–I made the mashed potatoes–and then, a few hours later, with a stomach growling with hunger, I sat down and ate with my sisters, mom, and Memere. I had turkey, stuffing, carrots, green beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes with marshmellows, and apple pie. YUMMY. My Aunt Lulu then came over (she had been at her son’s house for Thanksgiving), and her, my mom, my Memere, and I played the most hilarious game of Pictionary EVER. My Aunt Lulu and Memere couldn’t draw if their life depended on it, and they couldn’t really guess either. After an hour we weren’t even a quarter-way done with the game. So we gave up.
Last night I had my second Thanksgiving dinner. My dad, sisters, and I came up to Connecticut Friday to have our dinner at my dad’s girlfriend’s house. Her brother and his family came from NYC Saturday morning, and we all had dinner in the afternoon. I had turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing, pasta with walnut sauce, broccoli cassarole, and tiramisu. YUMMY. We all then played Apples to Apples, one of the best games ever invented. It’s always fun to play with ten people.
Anyways, that was my Thanksgiving weekend. Tomorrow, I’m going back to school (extremely sad face). But, that means one month until the end of the semester! And then I have a one month break!
So, I guess I’ll end this post with what I’m thankful for, not only on Thankgiving, but every day. I’m thankful for my family, my friends, the love I get from each and every one of them, my cats, Amber (RIP). I’m thankful that my mom now has a great job, and slowly, but surely, we are getting out of the financial funk we were in. I’m thankful that I am able to travel to Italy to see my family there, let alone, travel at all, because many people my age aren’t able to. I’m thankful for my doctors, who have helped me for many years and I owe everything to. I’m thankful for being able to have an amazing education, when others aren’t so lucky. I’m thankful that I have rights, like the right to vote. I’m thankful that this country will be moving FORWARD. I’m thankful for J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter, without which I would probably be heading in a different direction with my life. I’m thankful for technology, because without it, I wouldn’t be able to write these posts for you!!
